Skateistan is a movie about a group of skaters that travel to Afghanistan to teach Afghan kids how to skate and to inspire them to have fun, stay in school and not join the war. They wanted to break down the boundaries of the Westerners and the Afghan people, and one way to do that is skateboarding, because, like they said in the movie, “Everyone is the same on a skateboard.” Their final goal was to build a permanent skate park in Afghanistan and finally they did.

I thought that this movie was really inspiring. It showed that we don’t have to resort to violence to solve our problems, and they also made it very interesting throughout the movie. I was on the edge of my seat the whole movie. I don’t skateboard that often, but I still loved this movie, and I highly recommend that you go see it especially if you like skateboarding.

Rating: I would rate it a 4.5/5.
