The film,
1778 Stories of Me and My Wife is a touching film about a husband Saku, a science fiction writer, his wife Setsuko, a bank teller, and their life together. When Setsuko is diagnosed with cancer, and told that she has only a year left to live, Saku takes to heart the helpful words of the doctor, “Enjoy your time together. Laughter has been known to do wonders in strengthening the body’s immunities.” and decides to write Setsuko a comical short story every day.
The reason I loved 1778 Stories of Me and My Wife is that it is the prefect mix of comedy, imagination, and love, but with just enough grief to make it similar to hard, cold reality. This great film shows you the power of Love, Laughter, and Imagination. It is very relatable, with the same ups and downs as real life.
I loved this movie and would recommend it to anyone.
