You can call me Al . . .

Tonight I went to the Al Gore, Inconvenient Truth, Red Carpet presentation. We got to interview the man that directed the movie with him, Davis Guggenheim. Along with the man who interviewed him on stage, Michael deGruy,  James Cameron, the one who presented Mr. Gore and Davis Guggenheim with the David Attenborough award.
While we were on the Red Carpet it was high pressured, especially when Al Gore drove up in his limo. He was the last one to walk onto the carpet, and the event inside was about to get started, so his people were ushering him past and did not let him talk to anyone. But after he had gone past Carol (who works in the press office, and who has helped us tremendously) literally pulled him back to us and said: “You have to talk to these kids.”
So he came back and we got to ask him a few questions. (To see us asking them, see the Too Cool section.) He was very nice, and was very willing to be with us and talk to us. He also had amazing eye contact with Jackie, Eli, and me. I was able to give him a packet with information about the group in Santa Barbara that has drawn a blue line where they predict the ocean level will rise to. And while all of this was going on, all of the other reporters were crowded around us with their microphones, cameras, video cameras, and lights. So, because they couldn’t get their own interviews they taped ours!
After that we all went inside and watched Michael interview Al and Davis. Then they were both presented with the award by James Cameron, who received it last year. During some parts of the interview Mr. Gore talked about his father and got tears in his eyes! WHAT A LOVELY MAN.
So, make sure to check out the Too Cool section.
