Bella

Bella is a heartfelt story about a man, Jose, and a woman, Nina, who become close friends when Nina tells Jose she is pregnant. Jose then tries to repay the wrong he’s done in
life.
This movie was so honest and pure, exactly what the filmmakers wanted it to be. It takes place in one day where both characters learn more about themselves and each other than they ever thought possible. Jose is a gentle spoken man that carries the burden of manslaughter on his shoulders. Nina is a suffering waitress that just learned she is pregnant. Nina wants to have an abortion, but Jose feels that is he lets her go through with it, he would be killing yet another human being.
Once Nina is fired from her job, Jose chases after her to comfort her in her time of need. He takes her to a restaurant, finds her a possible job, takes her to his home and confides in her what he has done.
One thing that this movie might imply is that abortion is a bad thing and that abortion was not an option that Nina had. But Jose wasn’t interested in saving Nina’s child because he didn‚t believe in abortion, but because he only wanted to compensate that he had killed a child in his “past” life.
Even though I do at almost every movie, I cried at this one. It touched the heart in so many ways and radiated such a huge amount of pure intimacy. It truly is a love story that goes beyond romance. This movie is so different and genuine that it would be a loss if you don’t see it.
The next showing is at 7:15PM, Monday at the Metro Four. See you there.
