The Queen Review

Synopsis
Ever wonder how Queen Elizabeth the second coped with Diana's (Princess of Wales) death? Even if you  haven't given it a second thought, this movie was still amazing.
It starts out with Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2) watching Diana on the news, and scowling at the fact that she was loved by her people so much. Basically, QE2 did NOT like the "People's Princess." Also in the beginning of the movie, QE2 was portrayed as the stuck up and scowling queen, AKA the one you do NOT want to be friends with.  But as the pressure to show some remorse starts to kick in, QE2 is forced to become a better person.

Review
The screenwriting of this movie was amazing. Helen Mirren was an amazing actress, and played the role of QE2 very well. Even the screenwriter of the movie, Peter Morgan, admitted that when Helen got into character, he put his hands behind his back in respect. This is probably why Helen is getting the "Outstanding Performance of the Year" award. But it wasn't just Helen's acting that made the film, it was also the fabulous supporting characters. The best part of the movie was the scene where the stone cold Queen cracks a smile, and you can feel the relief the audience expresses. Overall this movie was a great experience and a movie that so far stands out of the other films in this festival.
