Opening Night
 
Hi I’m Derek Simons from the SBMS Teen Press. I bet you saw this coming, but I can’t wait for the film festival. I have my list of movies I want to see and I feel like I’m going to have a great week. I think it’ll be a blast watching the movies and it might be fun typing up reviews too. The thing I’m excited most about though is that I got my own press pass today! I mean what more can I ask for! I am totally ready to interview some stars and directors. I met a writer named Kim who was really cool. She took us through signing up step by step and was really nice. We also met a film maker named John Ferry. He and his wife made a film called Sitting Bull. On Saturday I’m going to see Will Smith get his Modern Master Award. I can’t wait! It’s probably gonna be the best part of the week. With any luck I might get to interview him too. I hope you go see some movies too. If you do, and you see a group of kids taking notes it’s probably us. I’ll be the really cool kid in the front. Anyway, I can’t wait.
