The Music Within

This movie is a true story about a boy named Richard. Richard's dad died when Richard was young. His dad was always a great father to him and some of us can relate to what it feels like to have lost a loved one. Richard lived with his mother who didn't treat him very well and he grew up with all he had: himself. He got into writing and presenting speeches and won every speech competition he attended. He was hoping to get a scholarship in college by giving a speech but was turned down. Outraged, he decided to go to the Vietnam War. After surviving what was practically a suicide mission Richard becomes a hero, but becomes deaf after a stray bomb hits his campsite. Richard meets a very intelligent man named Art. Art may be smart but he also has Cerebral Palsy which is a physical disorder. The film shows how Richard lives and defends the public.
I give this film 5 stars. It was very well scripted and filmed. Michael Sheen (Art) stole the show. He was outstanding at being humorous and at the same time managed to be crippled. Even though he was just acting, I had to ask the director if Sheen was actually crippled. I thought it was a great film and it was somewhat educational too. Hurry to the movies and see it now!
