Working at MONTESSORI CENTER SCHOOL

Working at Montessori Center School was such a great experience.

I arrived to Gold Door on Friday at 8 o’clock. I helped my employers, Margaret, Margarita, and Sharmila get ready for the children. Then Margarita and I went down to drop off and walked all the children back to the class. All of them ran inside and started to play with play-dough or play with a baby doll. When Margaret rang a bell after some time to play, all the kids came and sat down at the rug in the middle of the room. We had story time, a snack, and then played again. Margaret, Sharmila and I took some of the older children to the big playground, while Margarita staid behind with the younger ones. After helping the toddlers swing on the monkey bars and come down the slides, we all went back to Gold Door to play on the classes’ own playground. Another ring of the bell and all the kids came running into the class to sit on the rug. Margaret read another book and excused the children one by one to wash their hands and sit down at a table to eat lunch. After a nice meal, it was off to the playground again. Some off the kids were picked up by a parent or nanny while the others went inside to take a nap. When all the children left, I helped by picking up outside. I then came inside to help one of the kids try to fall asleep. That was probably the hardest part of working there. I then went home and couldn’t wait for the next day. It was hard work to work with children so small, but I had a wonderful time and I definately consider this a future job.
