Hi my name is Deryn. I am a seventh grader at Santa Barbara Middle School. I'm the camera-person for the team.

Some of my hobbies are playing sports such as soccer, swimming, ice skating, volleyball and biking. I also like playing the violin, doing art, being outdoors, hiking, traveling, cooking, and going to the beach. I like spending time with family and friends. My favorite color is purple and my favorite animal is a bird. A few of my favorite foods are pasta, salads, and Mexican food.

I wanted to be part of Teen Press because we get to interview and meet important, inspiring people who have made a difference. I also like having the chance to experience being a reporter, but think that it will be even more fun to film the interviews. I also think that it is cool how we can ask questions that professional reports can not.

I most look forward to, hopefully, getting to film the interview of the Dalai Lama. That would be one of my dream interviews. A fun interview would be to go to a festival, such as Earth Day, and to get to ask questions of visitors and people running the booths.

Another interview idea that would be amazing would be to go to the Presidential Inauguration. This would be fun because we would get to ask the crowd questions, get to meet the president, and hear his opinions on an important day of history. Getting to meet Vice President Joe Biden, or someone else who helps run our country, would be an amazing experience too.
