Santa Barbara International Film Festival:

DAVID O. RUSSELL, Outstanding Director

On the red carpet for the first tribute of SBIFF 29, recipient David O. Russell did what he does so well: Direct. For first one cameraman and news team to the next, David humorously instructed them on what to shoot and what he wanted to happen. This presaged the experience Festival Executive Director Roger Durling would have on stage with David during the tribute interview. Turned out we all just had to go with the flow.

Allowed only one question, Emily and Ashlyn went with one from the heart...
