Even at 5:45 am, the Moscone Center was chaos. We convened at a coffee shop, watching people run by trailing power cords, desperately trying to find a place for the Keynote. But there was no need for us to be racing out the door, because we had our press connection, Kelly Maxwell, Head of PR at Apple. We met up with her outside the West Hall of the Moscone Center where the Keynote was being held. She welcomed us to the world of MacWorld by handing out iTunes Gift Certificates and Note Pads. She briskly escorted us directly through security and up to the Keynote.

Steve Jobs introduced many new products and upgrades this year. For one, the iPhone now has GPS capabilities. They also introduced a new Apple TV, and you can now rent movies off of iTunes for $2.99 per movie. And the last, and probably the coolest thing of all, Apple introduced a brand new computer called the Macbook Air. It is the thinnest laptop ever, only 0.16” thick at it’s skinniest. It was amazing! And to top it all off, Randy Newman performed his hit song “You’ve got a Friend in Me.” For my first time at a Keynote, it was a day to remember.

But it wasn’t over yet, we still had some interviewing to do! After much pushing and shoving, Harrison, and our camera man, Jacob, were able to get a quick word with Steve Jobs himself! Unfortunately, our microphone was malfunctioning, so we didn’t have any audio. But our man at the computer, John, did a good job of covering up this blunder. Myself and a couple other Teen Pressers, were able to talk with Steve Chen and Chad Hurley, the founders of the popular video site, YouTube. It was really cool talking to these really smart guys and I really enjoyed it.

Well, it’s 9:30 and I need to get to sleep. I’ll see you guys on the Internet!
