The day started early, 4:55 to be exact. The song “Get Over It” was blasting out of my cell phone’s alarm. I could hardly wait to get to
Macworld. We warmed ourselves up for an hour at a coffee shop, before it was time to meet
Kelly Maxwell, the head PR of Apple, with her assistant
Adam. We were warmly welcomed with iTunes gift-cards and an Apple notepad that only the executives get. Then we were escorted up to the floor of the Keynote, where I met so many interesting people. Such as, reporters from ABC, G4 Tech TV, and NBC.
When the Keynote began I was so excited. Here are a few things I was interested in in the Keynote.
- Movie Rentals on iTunes, and Apple TV.
- Sweet new features for the iPhone.
- The MacBook Air, the skinniest laptop.
All of this technology was only the beginning -- walking into the room full of booths was pretty cool. Amazing things from Power Napping, to Swing Chairs. Not to mention all the SWAG. A waterproof case from Otter Cases, and the millions of things from Dr. Bott. I also met up with the SMART Technologies people. They have great touch sensor whiteboards. I am sure they will soon be in every school.
The day went on, looking at all the great booths, but then the greatest thing of all happened. The Press Conference. A company called Vestalife, started this year, came out with my favorite product if have seen, at Macworld called the Ladybug. The Ladybug is a great new speaker system that is way out of this world. To make it better, Element Skateboards teamed up with Vestalife to make a special model of the Ladybug. They mainly made it for teens and pre-teens, and guess what, they did better than you would think. Everyone in the group wanted one, because it was so cool. And Harrison & Emma got one each. Not to mention that all of us will be getting ours tomorrow! Plus I got a 1 out of 450 made skateboard deck signed by Johnny Schillereff, the founder of Element Skateboards. Could this day be any better?
