My name is Ella. I am a reporter in Santa Barbara Middle School Teen Press.

The reason I wanted to be a part of Teen Press was I because when I heard more about Teen Press and journalism, I guess it just sparked my interest. I was also interested in the opportunity to interview learn other peoples stories. If I could visit with anyone, I would visit with Malala Yousafazi. I would talk about why she thinks, from her point of view, that all of this fighting is going on where she used to live. I would also ask she ever misses her old life and friends back home and how she copes with her injuries. She is also my hero because she pushed through so many difficulties both phisical and emotional.

A quote that speaks to me is “I don’t mind if I have to sit on the floor at school. All I want is education and I am afraid of no one” -Malala Yousafazi. Another quote that speaks to me is “I do not even hate the Talib who shot me. Even if there is a gun in my hand and he stands in front of me, I would not shoot him.” This quote speaks to me because she has so much power and she holds the right to hate the Taliban, but she doesn’t and forgives them.
