Hi, I’m Jonny herrera, and I’m in 7th grade.

This is my first time in the SBMS Teen Press. I became interested in Teen Press before I even came to Middle School. I saw Team 26’s trip to Washington DC, and I got interested. I thought about it and decided to join it at the end of the year, and here I am now! Teen Press just sounded like an awesome opportunity that I couldn’t pass up. I hope to learn how to be able to successfully interview someone professionally.

When I’m away from school, I’m usually at the beach surfing or messing around with technology. I love the beach and surfing is probably my favorite sport aside skateboarding. Another hobby I have is coding. I love to use javascript and python. It’s just fun to mess with random games like Minecraft, or make your own game to mess with. Sometimes I will just go on a bike riding into the mountains with my mom or friends.I love any kind of instrument. It’s just so cool that I can play a song on the saxophone and then play the same song on a guitar, but they're not the same sounding. That’s just a little list of things I do in my free time.

In my future, I hope to become a mechanical or computer engineer. I want to get into the Dos Pueblos Engineering Academy. if i can get in that, I hope to get a jump start for college. I don’t know what college I want to go to, but I definitely want to go to one. I want to be an engineer because it just sounds like the most fun job in the world! Just messing around with machinery and seeing what goes together and what doesn’t.
