Hi. My name is Lylah. I am an eighth grader at Santa Barbara Middle School. I am so excited to be a part of the Teen Press this year.

I am an outgoing person and I love to dance, act and sing. To me there is nothing like being on stage. I also am very passionate about music; I like it when music can move people. I dream of creating music or a piece of art that moves people because I believe that art has the capability to be impactful and change the world. A dream project I would want to do with the Teen Press is going to San Fransisco and interviewing different people. I would want to interview people who own local restraunts and stores. I would ask them about what inspired them to open their business and if they have any other dreams. I would also want to interview homeless people, and go to Glide Memorial Church and interview the people who work there and homeless people getting a meal. I would also interview tourists and ask them why they chose to visit San Fransisco. I love San Fransisco because it is such a funky city and I think it would be so cool to be able to meet a wide variety of people and get different points of view in the same city.

I love being with little kids and watching them learn, and grow. Some of my favorite movies include, Remember the Titans, The Jungle Book, and The Pursuit of Happyness. I love to laugh and put smiles on other peoples faces. I believe in never growing up and continuing to be easily excited by the little things. I hope that in Teen Press I will meet people who will be teachers to me I also hope that people we interview will remember us. There is a lyric in a song that I love that goes “for a moment a band of thieves in ripped up jeans got to rule the world” I think this quote is good to represent the Teen Press. We are a band of kids who get the opportunity to do things that put us on top of the world.
