Hi, my name is MacKenzie, I am an eighth grader at SBMS. This year I am a reporter in the Santa Barbara Middle School Teen press.

I have heard great stories and experiences about the Teen Press, and I hope to have great interviews also. I joined Teen Press because I would like to be less nervous talking to new people, and get more self confidence. I want to learn about our community and all the interesting people. I joined not to meet famous people, but to learn how to interview and what it is like being behind the camera. I hope to learn to ask interesting questions that make people think. In this semester, I am going to go to the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado. I hope to meet new, inspiring people there and conduct really interesting interviews. I also hope to ask that one question that makes someone’s day.

In my spare time, I love to play volleyball, go to the beach, and just be with my friends, and my family. I think my dream interview in Teen Press would be Jennifer Lawrence. She is my dream interview because she is inspiring, funny, and a great actress. When I am older, I really want to be either a teacher, or a doctor. I love being around kids and I also love math, so being a math teacher is something that looks really fun to me. I am not bothered by blood, or touching the kidneys or lungs in Victor’s class, and by being a doctor I can help people all around the community.
